About this Design
The design features intricate, monochromatic illustrations of roses, butterflies, and a human skull. Gothic-style text reads 'Vanitas Vanitatum Omnia Vanitas', which is Latin for 'Vanity of vanities, all is vanity'. The composition reflects themes of life, death, and the fleeting nature of beauty, reminiscent of vanitas art from the 16th-17th centuries.
@thorazos
"Vanitas vanitatum, dixit Ecclesiastes, vanitas vanitatum et omnia vanitas." ("Most empty of all empty things, saith the preacher; most empty of all empty things, and everything is empty.") Eccl. 1:2 The decadent vanitas still life is related to the memento mori, and represents futility and the brevity of earthly pleasure in arrangements of overripe fruits, rancid shellfish, wilting flowers and dry hollow bones.
