About this Design
A detailed black and white illustration of a bird with a prominent curved beak, possibly resembling a hornbill or toucan. The feathers are intricately depicted with fine lines, emphasizing texture and shading, giving it a realistic appearance. The bird gazes sideways, showcasing its large, rounded eye and the intricate patterns on its beak and feathers. The style is reminiscent of traditional pen and ink drawings, with a focus on details and textures.
@lorendowding
Black and white illustration of a male wrinkled hornbill. Wrinkled hornbills (Rhabdotorrhinus corrugatus) are an endangered species of bird found only in the tropical forests of the Thai-Malay Peninsula, Sumatra and Borneo. These birds have mostly black plumage with vibrant yellow feathers on the face, blue around the eye and a huge colourful yellow and orange beak. I created this drawing using ink pens on Bristol board, using one of my own photographs as reference.
