About this Design

This image is a simple black and white illustration of a medieval king wearing a crown and long robe with detailed patterns. For this hand-carved block carving I have based my design on an original image from Geoffrey of Monmouth’s Historia Regum Britanniae found in the Bibliothèque nationale France (National Library of France.) The image is a piece of marginalia depicting a Medieval king. I recreated this image in my own style and have printed this block by hand before scanning it to make this design.
