About this Design

The design features a vintage horror movie poster style. Central is a grotesque, yellow skull-like face with bulging eyes and an open mouth. Red, spooky text reads 'Canticle of the Dead' with additional phrases like 'Ancient evil delivered through the grotesque harmonies of hell!' and 'You can close your eyes, but not your ears!' Layers of dark, eerie background elements give a classic, chilling atmosphere.

@7hells

Legendary low budget movie production company Atomic Rocket Productions released “Canticle of the Dead” in 1962. It’s intended success rode on exposing the audience to an audio gimmick that was mixed into the soundtrack of the film. The sound was supposed to create a sensation of horror, but in actuality caused nausea and acute headaches with a handful of actual hospital visits documented during its release.
