About this Design
A vibrant, surreal collage features a woman's face with blue skin and exaggerated red lips. Her eyes are a swirling mix of snakes and abstract shapes. Colorful digital and painted textures overlay the image, creating a chaotic yet compelling design. The overall style is a blend of pop art and surrealism, evoking a dreamlike, almost psychedelic feel.
@hecate
This photocollage of mine reminds me of an asphalt jungle of late 70s - early 80s New York City and the street+high fashion, lifestyle and mood calendar from the same era my parents had when I was a little kid. The aesthetic is totally different from power suits and pumps, but as I was building the collage, I felt that nostalgia, combined with reminiscence of colorful collision of punks and yuppies, of underground scene, mesmeric heat of summer metropolis and hectic concrete landscapes of a speedy city. I meshed the dirtiness and messiness of graffiti and surrealism of the blonde girl into a composition and a portrait of Generation X, the time of cynicism, nihilism, great music of that time and after (post punk, noise, alt), and political changes. The girl in the snake in her eyes is a hopeful, hyped-up, starry-eyed blonde from downtown, and myself dreaming of what it would be like as a young, hot-headed adult in that turbulent era. I am also screaming out colors of energy, angst, and rebellion of a generation that is so overlooked, despite many revolutionary events and cultural impacts.
